How to open a Bitunix account step by step, with identity verification
Bitunix has a reputation as a “no-KYC” exchange, and that’s only half true: it lets you open an account and use the basics without verifying, but it asks for level 1 before you can withdraw. Opening the account takes a few minutes and verification usually takes little more. These are the steps, the levels and what each one allows, checked on its official website.

What you need before you start
To open a Bitunix account you need an email address or a mobile number, to be 18 or over and to live in a country Bitunix accepts. To withdraw, you also need a valid ID document and a camera for the selfie. If you are going to use an invitation code, have it ready before you start.
- ID document: passport, national ID card, residence permit or driving licence. Student, work and tourist visas are not accepted.
- Email or phone: the phone number goes with your country’s dialling code.
- The invitation code, if you are using one: Bitunix links it to the account when you sign up and it cannot be changed afterwards. What it is and who gets what is explained in referral code.
- An accepted country: the list of the ones it doesn’t accept is further down, under “Which countries”.
Signing up on the website, step by step
Signing up for Bitunix takes five steps and asks for no documents: you choose email or phone, create the password, enter the invitation code if you have one, accept the terms and confirm with the code you receive. Like this:
- Go to bitunix.com and click Sign Up.
- Choose email or phone and enter it.
- Create the password.
- If you have a code, enter it in Invitation code (optional). If you came in through an affiliate’s link, it is already filled in: check that it is there.
- Accept the user agreement and the privacy policy, click Sign Up and enter the code sent to your email or by SMS.
The steps are the same in the app. If an invitation link doesn’t open properly on your phone, Bitunix’s help centre advises signing up from the app and typing the code in by hand.
Check the code before you finish: according to Bitunix, it is linked to the account when you sign up and cannot be changed later.
Bitunix KYC levels and what each one allows
Bitunix has three levels. Unverified (level 0), you only get the basic features. Level 1 asks for an ID document and a selfie and enables withdrawals, and level 2 also asks for proof of address and raises the limits. According to its help centre, each level allows the following:
| Level | What it asks for | What it allows |
|---|---|---|
| Level 0 | Nothing | Basic features; trading, withdrawals and fiat may be limited |
| Level 1 | ID document and selfie | Withdraw crypto, up to 500,000 USDT every 24 hours |
| Level 2 | Proof of address less than three months old | Withdraw up to 5,000,000 USDT every 24 hours |
- In your profile, go to Identity Verification.
- Choose your country and the type of document.
- Upload photos of the document, in JPG or PNG and up to 5 MB: the whole document, with no glare and all four edges visible.
- Take the selfie following the on-screen instructions and wait for the result.
The review takes from a few minutes to 24 hours; the level 2 review is manual and usually takes one to three hours. Limits vary by country, account risk and the security methods you have enabled, and only one verified account per person is allowed.
The first thing after opening it: security
The first thing worth doing after opening the account is enabling Google Authenticator, under Profile and then Security. Bitunix advises having at least two security methods enabled before withdrawing, and the more you have, the higher your withdrawal limit. These are the settings:
- Google Authenticator: the six-digit codes required to log in and to withdraw.
- Passkey: log in with your phone’s fingerprint or face, without a password. Bitunix suggests using it.
- Anti-phishing code: 8 to 20 letters and numbers. It appears in every genuine email from Bitunix: if an email doesn’t include it, it isn’t from Bitunix.
No Bitunix employee will ever ask for your password or your verification codes. If someone does, it is a scam.
Your first deposit and moving to futures
You can deposit by sending crypto you already own, buying it with a card or buying it from another person through P2P. Card purchases require verification. To trade futures, you then have to move the balance from your spot account to your futures account:
- In Wallet → Deposit, choose the coin (for example, USDT) and the network, and copy the address. The network must be the same on both sides. It usually arrives within 3 to 30 minutes.
- If you buy through P2P, pay from an account in your own name: Bitunix doesn’t let you withdraw what you bought through P2P until the next day.
- When it arrives, go to Assets → Transfer, choose from Spot to Futures, the coin USDT and the amount, and confirm.
The app also has a USDT-M futures demo with 50,000 virtual USDT, which doesn’t require verification and can be reset whenever you like. What to do on your first trade is in how to start with futures.

You can check any exchange on the ESMA register. If your country isn’t on Bitunix’s list, also check what its law says about foreign exchanges.
